We can’t afford to wait on politicians to step up and take action. The people have always paved the way forward. We’ll have some music, refreshments and an opportunity to share and learn about helpful resources you can bring back to your families and communities 🌞 All backgrounds and identities are welcome.
Sapiyay is proud to be a collaborator with Start:Empowerment and Dandelions NYC for the 4th Earth Month Convergence—We Are Seeds, Weaving Our Roots—an annual community gathering where we honor our victories, stand in solidarity with ongoing struggles, and deepen our connections to the land and each other. Together, we'll cultivate the knowledge and tools needed to tackle local and global environmental justice issues and defend Mother Earth 🌱✨
Join us for a celebration of Pawkar Raymi (Spring Equinox) and Mushuk Nina (Andean New Year). We invite young women, mothers, and grandmothers to participate in a Ceremony of Blossoming. Together, we will honor the traditions of our Abuelas by offering a workshop on el hilado (hand-spinning wool), bordado (embroidery), and beading traditions of Saraguro.
